Any device, no installation
Your books open in a browser on a laptop at the office, a phone at the warehouse, or your CA's machine across the city. Nothing to install, nothing to sync between copies.
Installed accounting packages keep a rigorous ledger — on one machine, licensed per seat, backed up by somebody's daily discipline. Finkitaabh keeps the double-entry rigour and moves the whole thing into the browser.
अब हिसाब-किताब, कहीं से भी।
Desktop accounting is genuinely good at what it was built for: a fast, rigorous, double-entry ledger sitting on a computer in your office. The friction shows up around it. Your accountant has to be at that desk, or on a remote-desktop session. A second user or a second company usually means another licence. The data lives on one hard disk, so backups are a habit somebody has to keep rather than a property of the system — and the day the disk fails, that habit is the whole story.
GST is where the hours go. An installed package will compute your tax correctly, but turning that into a filed GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B is still an export, check and upload cycle every month, and any mismatch sends you back through the ledger by hand.
Finkitaabh keeps the part that matters — an immutable, append-only double-entry ledger compliant with MCA Rule 11(g) — and rebuilds everything around it for the cloud: GSTR-1, 3B and 9 generated straight from your books, E-Way Bill Part A created automatically above ₹50,000, and bank statements reconciled with suggested matches instead of a ruler and a highlighter.
The same discipline, in a different shape.
Your books open in a browser on a laptop at the office, a phone at the warehouse, or your CA's machine across the city. Nothing to install, nothing to sync between copies.
GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-9 generate from the invoices you already posted — B2B/B2C split and rate-wise breakup included, with blocked ITC excluded automatically.
Upload a CSV, Excel or PDF statement. Transactions are extracted and matched by amount, date and reference, so reconciliation stops being a full-day job.
Multi-tenant by design — run several companies from one login with database-level isolation, and add staff with role-based permissions rather than more licences.
Data sits in a managed PostgreSQL database with row-level security per company and an immutable audit log. No pen drive, no nightly ritual.
Photograph a purchase bill and get a structured draft you review before posting. A metered add-on — it never posts to your ledger by itself.
Nothing here is about software brands. It is about where the hours go.
| The job | The usual wayHow it tends to go | On FinkitaabhCloud + AI |
|---|---|---|
| Opening your books | At the machine they are installed on, or through a remote-desktop session | A browser tab, on whatever device is in your hand |
| Filing GSTR-3B | Export, cross-check in Excel, upload, chase the mismatch | Generated from posted invoices with blocked ITC already excluded |
| Reconciling the bank | Statement on one screen, ledger on the other, line by line | Statement uploaded; matches suggested on amount, date and reference |
| Adding a second company | Another licence, often another installation | An operation inside your account, isolated at the database level |
| Giving your CA access | Remote desktop, or a data file sent over email | Their own login, with a role that fits what they should see |
| Backing up | Somebody's daily discipline, on somebody's pen drive | Continuous, on a managed database, off-site by default |
| Proving nothing was altered | An edit log, if the feature is switched on | No edit or delete path exists on posted entries at all |
“The usual way” describes common manual and desktop-era workflows we see in Indian businesses — not any particular product. Every Finkitaabh claim is a capability shipped today.
You can bulk-import items and pricing from Excel or CSV with smart header mapping and per-row validation, and your chart of 48 India-ready accounts is pre-configured from day one. Parties and opening balances are set up with you on a free onboarding call, in Hindi or English.
It is the same discipline: real double-entry posting, with Trial Balance, P&L and Balance Sheet derived from the ledger rather than typed in. The audit trail is append-only and MCA Rule 11(g) compliant — there are no edit or delete paths on posted entries, which is stricter than an edit log.
You need connectivity to post entries, the same as any cloud system. In exchange your books are never trapped on one machine, are backed up continuously, and are reachable by your CA without a remote-desktop session.
Most are, quickly — the reports are the ones they already ask for: Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet, sales and purchase registers, expenses grouped across 18 standard heads and income-tax computation, all exportable to Excel or PDF with letterhead. You can give your CA their own login with a role that fits.
It is a subscription that includes users, companies, cloud hosting and updates — no annual maintenance contract and no per-machine licence. Exact plan pricing is confirmed on the demo call; see the pricing section for indicative figures.
